On April 8, 2026, at the first session of the 16th National Assembly, Mr. Vu Hai Quan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Permanent Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, was officially approved for appointment as Minister of Science and Technology for the 2026–2031 term.
