Overview of the Symposium.

On September 17, 2025, the Third International Symposium on Nano Life Sciences: Nanobiotechnology, Biophysics, and Computation (NanoBioCoM2025) was opened, gathering more than 100 delegates from 13 countries and territories.

The symposium was co-organized by the Rencontres du Vietnam and the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), in collaboration with the World Premier International Research Center Initiative - Nano Life Science Institute (WPI-NanoLSI) at Kanazawa University (Japan).

Building on the success of NanoBioCoM2023 and 2024, this year's symposium focuses on fundamental and advanced applied research in nano life sciences, particularly modern techniques such as AFM, Cryo-EM, NMR, TIRFM, STED, along with computational tools like DeepAFM, CryoDRGN, and Deep-STORM.

Deputy Director of the Gia Lai Department of Science and Technology Vo Cao Thi Mong Hoai speaks at the Symposium.

Deputy Director of the Gia Lai Province Department of Science and Technology Vo Cao Thi Mong Hoai stated that the symposium affirms the role of nano life sciences in connecting nanobiotechnology, biophysics, and computation, carrying special significance as it officially launches the Vietnam Biophysics Society.

Gia Lai Province always identifies science and education as the core foundation for innovation, creativity, and sustainable development. The Department of Science and Technology commits to continuing to accompany and create favorable conditions for the ICISE Center to promote its role as a knowledge nucleus, serving as a bridge between Vietnamese science and the international scientific community.

The reports presented at the symposium combine teaching and research aspects. The introductory section provides foundational and specialized context at a level suitable for advanced postgraduate programs; followed by the latest research results from the speakers themselves. In addition, there are nearly 100 poster presentations and short reports from the Vietnam Biophysics Society, Vietnam Microscopy Society, Vietnam Physics Society, Vietnam Theoretical Physics Society, and the nano life sciences community.

The symposium aims to build an interdisciplinary forum for scientists to showcase research results, share experiences, discuss innovations, trends, challenges, as well as solutions in the fields of nanobiotechnology, biophysics, and computation.

This year's symposium also marks the launch of the Vietnam Biophysics Society, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Huy from Phenikaa University as the Interim Chairman, headquartered at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE). This is considered an important step in building an interdisciplinary Physics-Biology scientific community in Vietnam, while opening up many opportunities for international cooperation.

Currently, Biophysics is a rapidly developing interdisciplinary field, combining physics and biology to explore the physical mechanisms governing biological systems, clarifying the differences between experiments at the single-molecule level and those on molecular ensembles, an issue particularly important in nano life sciences. Currently, Vietnam is actively implementing many research programs on nanobiotechnology, with research directions focusing on nano-medicine, molecular nanobiological systems, nano-based biosensors, as well as modern techniques like FRET and FLIM.

This symposium is an important milestone in the process of building an interdisciplinary scientific community in Vietnam, opening up many opportunities for deeper and more sustainable cooperation between domestic and international scientists, contributing to affirming and enhancing the position of Vietnamese science on the global knowledge map./.
