On the afternoon of August 5, in Hai Phong City, the Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology held the Closing Ceremony of Techfest Haiphong 2026, marking the end of a series of activities dedicated to connecting, showcasing technology, and fostering the innovation ecosystem over the past several days.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology Le Luong Thinh emphasized that Techfest Haiphong this year took place at a momentous time, as the city is focusing on executing tasks to maintain high growth rates, while accelerating the realization of objectives set out in Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation (STI & DT) development.
According to Mr. Le Luong Thinh, in the context where STI increasingly determines competitive capacity, Techfest Haiphong 2026 was not merely an event to introduce tech products, but served as a forum to connect resources to promote innovation.
The event created an intersection between idea and reality, between scientific research and market demand, and between startup enterprises with support organizations, investors, and international partners.
With the orientation to become a regional industrial, logistics, and innovation hub, Hai Phong City is step by step building a favorable environment for STI to penetrate deeper into the socio-economic development process.
Over 1,000 new technologies displayed, attracting thousands of visitors
One of the standout highlights of Techfest Haiphong 2026 was the technology exhibition area themed "Voyage of 5 Tech Ports", gathering 150 physical booths and introducing over 1,000 new products, solutions, and technologies across various sectors.
The demonstrated technologies focused on fields playing crucial roles in current development trends, such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, automation, smart seaports, logistics, biotechnology, and the green economy.
Notably, Techfest Haiphong 2026 featured new-generation robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the first time, offering a vivid perspective on high-tech application capabilities in production, urban management, logistics, and numerous other fields.
The exhibition space drew strong interest from the business community, scientists, students, startup support organizations, and local citizens. Over 3,000 visitors experienced tech products in person, while the digital exhibition platform techfesthaiphong.vn expanded its reach to tens of thousands of online followers.
The event also recorded participation from businesses and organizations across more than 20 domestic provinces and cities, alongside international partners from Singapore, South Korea, China, Thailand, Italy, Japan, Spain, and other countries.
The diversity of participants reflects Hai Phong City's growing appeal as a key hub for technology and innovation connectivity in Vietnam.
From exchange forums to growth-promoting initiatives
In addition to exhibition activities, Techfest Haiphong 2026 hosted numerous forums, matching sessions, and specialized seminars aimed at finding solutions to develop the innovation ecosystem.
Two forums, two connection sessions, and one in-depth seminar attracted around 700 delegates. Experts, managers, enterprises, and startup support organizations focused their discussions on mechanisms to foster innovation, develop technology enterprises, commercialize research results, and build a conducive environment for startups.
Many contributions at the event were evaluated as vital foundations for Hai Phong City to continue perfecting support policies for innovative enterprises, effectively unleashing STI resources in the new period.
Discussions also highlighted the urgent need to strengthen the "triple helix" model linking Government - Scientists - Enterprises, aiming to bridge the gap between research and practical applications. This direction aligns with the goal of turning STI into a new growth engine, elevating labor productivity and national economic competitiveness.
Realizing commitments, promoting deep innovation
According to leaders of the Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology, the success of TECHFEST Haiphong 2026 lies not just in the number of booths, technologies introduced, or discussion sessions, but more importantly in the connections formed following the event.
Memorandums of understanding, technology supply-demand matching agreements, and policy recommendations proposed at Techfest Haiphong 2026 will serve as the foundation to continue implementing concrete action programs in the coming period.
The Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology affirmed it will maintain its focal role in connecting and advising the City to effectively execute support mechanisms for businesses, scientists, and innovative organizations.
In particular, the provincial-level Innovative Startup Support Center recognized at the opening ceremony of Techfest Haiphong 2026 will become one of the essential institutions to assist startup projects, boost the commercialization of creative ideas, and form competitive tech enterprises.
The establishment of a professional support center is expected to help startups gain better access to capital, technology, experts, markets, and international cooperation networks.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented certificates to businesses actively participating in displaying products, sharing experience, and contributing to spreading the spirit of innovation within the framework of the event.
Prominent enterprises honored included HTI Investment and Technology JSC, TOPCV Vietnam JSC, Khanh Linh Technology Development and Trading Co., Ltd., Work Zone Technology JSC, Eurovent Green Solution JSC, TA Water Treatment Technology Co., Ltd., and Vicore Vietnam Technology JSC.
The proactive participation of the corporate community demonstrates that innovation is becoming an imperative requirement in the development process. Beyond technology companies, many businesses in traditional sectors are seeking tech-application solutions to enhance production efficiency, optimize operations, and expand market presence.
