The article described the clinical features, imaging findings and evaluated the surgical treatment results of 5 cases (4 females and 1 male) of spinal cord tumour at 7A Military Hospital from 12/2016-12/2019. The average age of these 5 patients was 44.2 years (range 27-63 years). The common symptoms were spinal pain (5/5 patients), sensory disorders (4/5 patients), movement disorders (3/5 patients) with the most typical tumour’s location in the lower thoracic- lumbar. 3/5 patients underwent spinal decompression surgery. The tumour types included 4/5 cases of intramedullary neurinoma and 1/5 case of extramedullary-intradural sarcoma. There were no complications in the surgical process. The postoperative recovery results were good. 5/5 cases completely recovered the movement and the sensory. The prognosis and the outcome of the surgery for the benign spinal tumour were generally good. Until now, the surgical removal of the spinal cord tumour is the best method to improve the nerve functions after surgery treatment.
