September 14, 2025 marks a special milestone for the Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology (VJST). In accordance with Decision No. 1498/QĐ-BKHCN dated June 27, 2025, issued by the Minister of Science and Technology, the Journal has officially completed the merger of two electronic journals: The Journal of Information and Communications (ictvietnam.vn) - under the Ministry of Information and Communications; and The Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology (vjst.vn) - under the Ministry of Science and Technology, into a single electronic journal operating under the unified domain vjst.vn.

1. A significant milestone: the merger of two electronic journals

September 14, 2025, marks a pivotal event in the Journal’s development. Following Decision No. 1498/QĐ-BKHCN, the merger of the two e-journals has been successfully completed.

- The Journal of Information and Communications (ictvietnam.vn) - under the Ministry of Information and Communications.

- The Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology (vjst.vn) - under the Ministry of Science and Technology, into a single electronic journal operating under the unified domain vjst.vn.

This strategic step aims to streamline operations, enhance synergy, and boost the efficiency of science and technology communication in the context of national innovation and digital transformation.

2. A legacy of tradition and a historical mission

The Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology takes pride in being one of the oldest scientific press agencies in Vietnam, with 66 years of formation and development. Founded in 1959, the Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology was established alongside the State Committee for Science - the first government body managing scientific affairs, and the predecessor of today’s Ministry of Science and Technology.

For more than six decades, the Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology has accompanied the country’s scientific and technological progress, serving as a key channel to:

- Publish and disseminate research outcomes, applications, and technology transfers.

- Convey policies, directions, and strategies for science and technology development across different historical stages.

- Connect intellectuals, scientists, and experts both domestically and internationally, enriching Vietnam’s knowledge foundation for industrialization and modernization.

The 66-year journey is a testament to our steadfast mission: to spread scientific and technological knowledge and accompany the nation’s development.

3. New interface and content structure

Building upon the merger, VJST - MOST has officially launched a modern, intuitive, and mobile-friendly interface. The content architecture revolves around three core pillars:

1. Science and Technology (S&T)

- Highlighting and sharing research outcomes, scientific publications, and applications from Vietnam and abroad.

- Affirming science and technology as the foundation of a knowledge-based economy and national modernization.

- Creating a prestigious academic platform for researchers, experts, institutes, and universities to exchange and connect.

2. Innovation

- Promoting the national innovation ecosystem by reflecting trends, policies, and startup models.

- Featuring emerging technologies and creative solutions within enterprises and communities.

- Inspiring participation in innovation and entrepreneurship, thereby enhancing national competitiveness.

3. Digital Transformation

- Covering strategies, policies, and practical implementations of digital transformation across sectors.

- Analyzing opportunities and challenges in Digital Transformation to support organizations, businesses, and individuals in adapting and growing.

- Contributing to the building of a digital society, digital economy, and digital citizens aligned with Vietnam’s national strategy.

Additionally, the Journal offers supplementary sections:
